Privacy Policy

Effective date: November 1, 2026

This policy explains what information garagegolflab.com (“Garage Golf Lab,” “I,” “me”) collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.

Information you give me

  • Comments. If you leave a comment, the site stores your name, email address, website (if you enter one), comment text, IP address and browser information. This helps with spam detection. Your email address is never shown publicly.
  • Email. If you email me, I keep your message and email address so I can reply.

Information collected automatically

  • Server logs. My web host (Hostinger) keeps standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type, pages visited and time of visit, for security and to keep the site running.
  • Cookies. The site uses a small number of cookies:
    • A language cookie remembers whether you chose English or Korean.
    • If you leave a comment, your browser may store your name and email so you don’t have to type them again.
    • If you log in, WordPress sets login cookies.
  • Gravatar. When you comment, a scrambled code made from your email address (a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to show your profile picture.
  • Analytics. I do not currently use analytics tools that track you across sites. Pages load a small script from my web host, Hostinger, used to display email sign-up forms. There are no sign-up forms on the site right now, and the script does not set cookies.

The golf game

The game at garagegolflab.com/play saves your settings, rounds and shot history in your own browser (local storage). This data stays on your device and is not sent to me. You can delete it any time by clearing your browser’s site data. If you connect a launch monitor, its data goes straight from your device to the game in your browser.

Affiliate links

This site may contain affiliate links, such as links to Amazon. When you click one, the retailer may set its own cookies to track the purchase, under its own privacy policy. Retailers do not share your personal details with me; I only see totals such as clicks and sales.

How I use information

To run and protect the site, reply to messages, display and moderate comments, and understand which posts are useful. I do not sell or rent your personal information.

Sharing

I share information only with service providers that help run the site (such as my web host), when required by law, or to protect the site and its users.

How long I keep it

Comments and their data are kept until the comment is deleted. Emails are kept as long as needed to answer them. Server logs are kept by the host for a limited time.

Your choices and rights

  • You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
  • You can ask me to show, correct or delete personal information I hold about you, such as a comment, by emailing hello@garagegolflab.com.
  • California residents: you can request the information above and ask for it to be deleted. I do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • Do Not Track: browsers can send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is no common standard for it, so this site does not respond to it differently. You can still block cookies as described above.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent me personal information, email me and I will delete it.

Links to other sites

Other sites linked from here have their own privacy policies. I am not responsible for their practices.

Changes

If this policy changes, I will update the effective date above. Significant changes will be noted on this page.
