About

Hi, I’m Andrew, and this is Garage Golf Lab.

I love golf, but work keeps me busy and I rarely make it to a course. A home simulator with a launch monitor, software and a screen can cost $10,000 or more. So I decided to build my own instead, one step at a time, and write about every step here.

With about two months of coding classes behind me and an AI coding assistant beside me, I built an 18-hole screen golf game that runs in your browser. Then I took it to the Moon, where a driver flies 1.7 km and a wedge hangs in the air for 18 seconds. Mars and other planets are next.

What you’ll find here

  • Build Log: the honest story of building a home golf simulator, mistakes and bugs included.
  • The game: a free browser golf game you can play right now, in English or Korean.
  • Gear notes: the launch monitors, screens, laptops and other gear I look at along the way, with what I actually think of them.

Why trust me? I’m not a pro golfer or a professional reviewer. I’m a regular golfer building this in my garage and sharing what works and what doesn’t. Some posts may contain affiliate links, which help support the site. You can read how that works on the Affiliate Disclosure page.
